Derbyshire Music Education Hub

Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership (formerly Derbyshire City & County Music Partnership) leads the Derbyshire Music Education Hub. Working with other local music organisations, the Music Partnership will oversee the local delivery of the Government's National Plan for Music Education.

This successful and rapidly expanding music service has over 200 full and part-time instrumental/vocal teachers who teach around 15,000 instrumentalists and involve a further 2,000 pupils annually in other music projects.

A wide range of opportunities are available for all stages of learning.

In addition to regular instrumental and vocal tuition the Music Partnership provides further support for music development including:

  • singing projects;
  • infant and junior workshops for clusters of schools;
  • Key Stage 2 whole class ensemble teaching (including wider opportunities);
  • curriculum support to individual schools;
  • projects for special schools;
  • professional development opportunities for all key stages;
  • organising live performances;
  • arranging workshops with visiting artists.
