We provide opportunities for players and singers to make music together with others of a similar standard.  We want everyone to feel welcome, and to achieve their musical potential in a friendly, safe and purposeful environment.

Ensembles are directed by a team of qualified music teachers, all of whom have a current CRB check, and these are supported by a strong group of parent-helpers. A board of trustees has overall responsibility for the Centre's governance.  Most activities take place at The William Allitt School, Newhall, Swadlincote.

A regular programme of concerts is scheduled throughout the year, and from time-to-time there are opportunities for tours abroad.

SDMC is self-financed through pupil subscriptions, grants and donations. Details of subscription costs can be found on our website. We also offer financial support to those families who may have difficulty in paying the fees.

If you would like to sample up to three free sessions on a no-obligation basis, do come along - we'd love to see you!
