We rehearse at Anthony Gell School on Saturdays and in Wirksworth Memorial Hall on Tuesdays.

We usually give one or two concerts per term; these tend to be either in Wirksworth or in Matlock. We meet to practise every Saturday morning from 0900 to noon in term time and we have a wide range of groups to suit different ages, levels and instruments. Our Youth Choir meets on Tuesdays after school from 4.45 − 6 pm. We have a team of highly qualified, experienced teachers/ directors. and an active Parent Support Group as well as enthusiastic and committed trustees.

Our main groups are Recorders (four groups "Early Days", Junior, Intermediate and Senior), Strings (four groups) and Wind (three separate bands). We also have a "Kodaly Kids" group which is about rhythm games, singing and movement for children from reception − year 2 based on Kodaly principles. All are welcome to join the group that suits them.

Subscriptions are £30 per person per term and any student can take part in as many groups as they choose. Those attending on Saturday and Tuesday will pay an extra £10. We encourage parents who are tax payers to have their subscription treated as a donation so that we can recover Gift Aid. We understand that learning music can be an expensive commitment and we are keen to ensure that financial circumstances never prevent anyone who wishes to from taking part. If you'd like to sample a session on a no-obligation basis, do come along on any Saturday in term - we'd love to see you.
