NEDMC Choir through to Music for Youth National Festival

North East Derbyshire Music Centre's Junior Choir has been invited to perform at the Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham this July

Wednesday 9 May, 2018

Congratulations to NEDMC's Junior Choir − a non-auditioned choir for all abilities, directed by Christina McKechnie − for wowing the adjudicators at the regional Music for Youth event at Hope Valley College earlier in March and being invited to the take their performance to Symphony Hall in Birmingham for the National Festival on Wednesday, July 4.

One of the pieces the choir will perform in Birmingham will be The Best That You Can Be − A Song for Derbyshire − a specially commissioned song launched at Christmas 2017. The choir hope they will also get the chance to represent Derbyshire one more time at the Music for Youth Prom in the Royal Albert Hall London if invited there too!
