The acclaimed Snowman Tour comes to Derbyshire every year and offers the chance for young talented singers to be part of performances to schools and the public.

Are you our next solo singer?

We're auditioning for solo singers to perform Walking in the Air, accompanied by a live orchestra in the performances taking place in Buxton and Derby – part of Carrot Productions' The Snowman Tour.

We invite talented young soloists to audition for the incredible opportunity to sing at one of these performances. We are looking for a boy or a girl with an unchanged voice, up to and including Y8.

Auditions

Auditions are taking place in Buxton and Derby in October, and you will be required to perform the song Walking in the Air at one of these locations.

• All our audition slots have now been booked. We are still accepting applications, but these will be added to a waiting list in case somone cancels.

For Derby Performances

• Audition date: Saturday 14 October, from 9.00am
  Derby Music Centre, Beaufort Primary School, DE21 6BT
• Successful singers will perform at one of these events at Derby Reach
  Thursday 30 November: 1.45pm or 6.30pm
  Friday 1 December: 10.45 or 1.30pm

For Buxton performances

• Audition date: Wednesday 11 October, 5.00-7.00pm
  Buxton Community School, College Road, Buxton SK17 9EA
• Successful singers will perform at one of these events at The Octagon, Buxton
  Thursday 14 December: 1.30pm or 6.30pm

Preparation

The score, practice and performance tracks are available below to help you prepare for your audition. We suggest practising your performance with the practice track first, but move to the performance track without vocals as this will be what we expect in an audition.

If you need the music or words it’s fine to have them in the audition but, if you use a word sheet, do make sure you look up and show us some facial expression when singing the solo.
