A great day for enjoyable ensemble playing, tips on improving technique and making playing easier, and a chance to meet other players! Sarah Watts and Laurence Perkins are both well-established soloists, and bring a wealth of playing and tutoring experience to these informal sessions.

Beethoven will feature through the day - there will be a special version of his Variations on a Swiss Air for massed ensemble (graded parts, according to your playing ability), and Sarah and Laurence will be performing one of the delightful Beethoven Duos for clarinet and bassoon.

Subject to the number of players, the bass clarinets will work at 'The Kaleidoscopic Pocket Hockets Boogaloo!', by Arthur Gottschalk. This piece was written for the 2011 clarinet fest and has never been performed in the UK! (Parts for bass clarinets will be sent out two weeks before the day). Contra bass clarinets are also very welcome. Bassoons will play a version of Pachelbel's Canon (subject to the number of players), and other ensembles as appropriate to players on the course. The day will end with an informal performance of works rehearsed during the day - free admission for family and friends.
