The City & County Youth Wind Band performed at this year's National Concert Band Festival, achieving an outstanding Platinum award and an invitation to the national finals at Easter time 2015.

Result & adjudication

CCYWB scored a platinum level in 6 of the 7 categories with the judges applauding the overall balance and blend of sound, accuracy of performance and well played soloists performances, rounding off their comments with "a very well polished performance". Becoming a member of the City & County Youth Wind Band

Entrance into the City & County Youth Wind Band (CCYWB) is done by audition, where applicants are expected to be of at least grade 6. Competition for places is quite high, and we expect many players who are given a place in this ensemble to be up to, and beyond grade 8 standard.
