Players from the City & County Youth Wind Band will take part in masterclass workshops with professors from the Royal Northern College of Music − Rob Buckland (wind), Simone Rebello (percussion), Simon Cowen (brass) − before coming together to prepare for an evening concert at the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall, Martin Harris Centre, University of Manchester.

Becoming a member of the City & County Youth Wind Band

Entrance into the City & County Youth Wind Band (CCYWB) is done by audition, where applicants are expected to be of at least grade 6. Competition for places is quite high, and we expect many players who are given a place in this ensemble to be up to, and beyond grade 8 standard.
