CCYO rules, conduct and guidance
- Communication
If you have any problems or worries, please talk to a member of staff first instead of calling home. We're here to help you and make sure everything is okay. If you need to get someone in an emergency by phone, call 07812 473069.
- Noise and instruments
Please do not play your instrument in the bedrooms. As breakfast is served at 8.00am, we don’t expect anyone to need to play instruments before then. In fairness to everyone, we expect everyone to be quiet in the bedroom blocks after 10.30pm.
- Being on site
Players are to stay on site at all times, unless you have arranged to leave. If you would like to change bedrooms, make sure to ask by dinner time on the first day. Also, remember not to move furniture in public areas and no running in the corridors or near the bedroom.
- Daily expectations
At mealtimes, please join the queue in an orderly way for the servery and follow the customs and rules of the serving staff. Remember, no pyjamas or onesies in public areas, wear appropriate clothing to rehearsals and always wear proper footwear.
- Night-time
At 10.30pm, all pupils will be asked to go to their bedrooms and be signed in by a member of staff. It's important to stay in your room after this time. If you don't, we might need to call your parents, and it could affect your participation in future courses. If other students come into your room after 10.30pm, please let a member of staff know.
- Alcohol and smoking
Derbyshire County Council instruct us that no smoking or vaping is allowed on the course, no matter how old you are. If you're over 18, you have the option to bring alcoholic drinks, but you need to give them to the staff to store, and you can get them on request. Our venue does not allow alcohol in the rooms.
- Takeaways and snacks
Ordering takeaways is not permitted by students or staff during the course. There will be a tuck shop available after dinner and you can bring extra snacks if you wish, but we expect rubbish to be thrown away, not left to staff or cleaners to deal with.
- Behaviour
It's important to behave considerately towards everyone – participants and staff. If your behaviour is problematic, the course director might have to call parents, or send you home.
