Open Week at PDMC!

PDMC welcomes players of all abilities to try the groups and ensembles it offers throughout the Peak District. 

When: Monday 20 - Friday 24 April 2020

All groups listed below will be open to anyone who wants to give it a go! Just turn up, and you'll be welcomed. Contact PDMC to find out more...

Beginner level  

For beginner wind and brass players up to grade 1 ability:

  • Buxton Beginner Winds − Thursdays 4.15 - 5.00pm at St. Thomas More School, Buxton  
    Hope Valley Beginner Winds − Tuesdays 4.15 - 5.00pm at Hope Valley College, Hope 
    Bakewell Beginner Winds − Fridays 5.30 - 6.15pm at Lady Manners School, Bakewell 

For beginner string players up to grade 1 ability:

  • Hope Valley Beginner Strings − Mondays 4.45 - 5.30pm at Curbar Primary School, Curbar 
    Buxton Beginner Strings − Fridays 5.15 - 6.00pm at St. Thomas More School, Buxton

Some ability  

  • Peak District Training String Orchestra − for string players of approx. grade 1-3 ability 
    Fridays 5.15 - 6.30pm at St. Thomas More School, Buxton
  • Peak District Training Wind Band − for wind, brass and percussion players of approx. grade 1-3 ability 
    Fridays 6.30 - 8.00pm at Lady Manners School, Bakewell

Intermediate ability  

  • Peak District Youth Choir (aged 12 - 18) − for ages 12-18 
    Mondays 5.00 - 6.00pm at Hope Valley College, Hope
  • Peak District Intermediate Wind Band − for wind, brass and percussion players of approx. grade 3-5 ability 
    Fridays 6.30 - 8.30pm at Lady Manners School, Bakewell
  • Peak District Intermediate String Orchestra − for string players of approx. grade 3-5 ability 
    Fridays 7.00 - 9.00pm at St. Thomas More School, Buxton

More advanced ability  

  • Peak District Big Band − for jazz players of approx grade 4+ ability 
    Wednesdays 7.00 - 9.00pm at St. Thomas More School, Buxton
  • Peak District Wind Band − for wind, brass and percussion players of approx. grade 5+ ability 
    Fridays 6.30 - 8.30pm at Lady Manners School, Bakewell
  • Peak District String Orchestra − for string players of approx. grade 5+ ability 
    Fridays 7.00 - 9.00pm at St. Thomas More School, Buxton
