What is a School Music Development Plan and why do I need one?

Supporting schools in the creation of their School Music Development Plan

DDMP logoIn June 2022 the Department for Education published their policy paper The power of music to change lives: a national plan for music education.

The document sets out the government's vision for music education and how this can be achieved through partnerships with schools, music hubs, the music and creative sector, and others.

"to enable all children and young people to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together, and have the opportunity to progress their musical interests, including professionally"
Vision of the new National Plan for Music Education
