Developing a school ensemble using classroom instruments
Explore how to set up a school ensemble and boost your confidence in leading it with accessible repertoire and practical tips | Tuesday 10 June
The National Plan for Music Education describes a school ensemble as being one of the ways of achieving high-quality music provision in schools. Setting one up, however, can be a daunting task for those who don’t have experience in the practicalities of arranging music and adapting material to different abilities.
This interactive in-person training will explore simple repertoire that can be played on instruments found in schools, giving teachers and Music Leads the confidence to deliver something similar in their settings.
What is included in the training?
This training event is delivered by an music education Consultant and will include:
- Repertoire: Discover accessible and achievable pieces of music you can use in an ensemble with parts that are adaptable to different abilities and instruments
- Increase your confidence: Learn methods of rehearsing an ensemble to get the most out of the players you have
- Performance: Explore how to turn pieces into impressive performances for the rest of the school and families.
What resources are included?
Alongside access to the training, you will be provided with a resource pack of ideas from the session.
