Singing Stars

A programme of ten weekly sessions to support singing in Key Stage 1. Each 45-minute session includes physical warm-ups, musical games and a wide variety of songs of varying difficulties, tailored to the ability of the class.

A performance to the rest of the school, and sometimes parents, is arranged at the end of the programme.

A CPD session for school staff can also be arranged as part of this programme, to aid class teachers in the development of singing during and after the programme.

Infant Music Parties

Two or three infant schools are invited to join together for a one-off session of singing and musical activities.

We ask each participating school to buy a specific songbook (published by Out of the Ark: one of the My World series - usually under £20).

This songbook contains twelve songs - we ask that children are taught the four selected songs prior to the date of the Infant Music Party; leaving a further eight songs for schools to explore on their own.

An Infant Music Party starts at 9.30 at the host school and finishes at 11.30am, allowing visiting schools time to be back for lunch.

Sing4Life

A programme of ten weekly sessions to support the teaching of singing in Key Stage 2.

Each 45 minutes session includes physical warm-ups, musical games, a wide variety of songs with a range of challenges to stretch the vocal and musical capabilities of pupils; tailored to the ability of each class; all supporting the National Curriculum for Music.

If appropriate, a performance to the rest of the school, and sometimes to parents, is arranged at the end of the project to celebrate all that has been achieved.

A CPD session for school staff can also be arranged as part of this programme, to aid class teachers in the development of singing during and after the programme.

Sing2gether!

A cluster project bringing local schools together for a mass choir performance. Each school receives three one-hour sessions led by a member of the Singing Support Team, culminating in a final performance with all schools, to an audience of family and school friends.

More challenging repertoire is selected as the different harmony parts are shared out between the schools, resulting in an impressive performance.

A joint CPD session is offered to any member of staff from participating schools, to boost their confidence when singing with their class.
