Let's Get Singing

Let's Get Singing is designed to engage year 7 and 8 pupils with singing in the classroom. The project supports classroom teachers by boosting their confidence at delivering singing to pupils of this age.

Carefully selected repertoire that is accessible for all pupils encourages all to explore using their voices and develop confidence in singing, rapping and performing. 

A typical project includes:

• Engaging and accessible warm ups
  Activities that focus attention, re-energise and support students with changing voices or low confidence.
• Maximising enjoyment
  The aim of the project is less focussed on performance outcomes and on encouraging pupils to enjoy singing and expression through their voices.
• Musicianship skills
  Musician skills develop through a range of singing games and activities, concentrating on pulse, pitch, tempo, dynamics and rhythm of the words.
• Performance opportunity
  The project culminates in a performance that is flexible to the needs of the school. This may be a recording that is shared or a live performance to other members of the school community or invited parents and families.
• Ongoing CPD
  The project provides an ongoing CPD opportunity for school teachers to boost their confidence at encouraging singing in the classroom.
