Sing Together
A project for KS3-5 with three 1-hour sessions each leading to a massed performance, delivered by a singing specialist
Sing Together is a massed-choir project for several schools. Each learn the same repertoire in three one-hour sessions before joining for a combined workshop and performance at one of the participating schools or local venue.
The project is flexible to involve schools of the same Academy Trust, or hosted by a secondary school for several local feeders to help support transition from KS2 to 3.
A typical project includes:
- Musical warm ups
Activities that can be used at any point in the day to focus attention, re-energise and improve listening and concentration skills.
- Vocal excellence
Contrasting repertoire is carefully selected to give an impressive massed choir performance at a very high standard that is challenging but achievable.
- Musicianship skills
Development happens through a range of singing games and rhymes, concentrating on the steady pulse, pitch, tempo, dynamics and the rhythm of the words.
- Performance
Parents are invited to hear everything that has been achieved to celebrate the success of the pupils involved.
- On-going CPD and resources
A shared twilight CPD session is offered to all staff to discuss the project, repertoire and performance, and to boost confidence when leading singing with their pupils. All resources will be provided.
How much does Sing Together cost?
The cost for each school is £175 for 3 1-hour sessions and the massed workshop performance.
Travel costs to and from the massed performance are not included.
