The Derbyshire City & County Youth Wind Band is one of Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership's flagship ensembles, attracting high-achieving musicians from across the county. The Derby & Derbyshire Schools' Orchestra is an intermediate-level ensemble which acts as a stepping stone to the City & County Youth Orchestra.

Members of the two ensembles will be showcasing the outcomes of their work over the days preceding this concert at the residential course at the Hayes Conference Centre. The concert will include:

Becoming a member of the City & County Youth Wind Band

Entrance into the City & County Youth Wind Band (CCYWB) is done by audition, where applicants are expected to be of at least grade 6. Competition for places is quite high, and we expect many players who are given a place in this ensemble to be up to, and beyond grade 8 standard.
