Chesterfield Studios has a base at the Rose Theatre in Chesterfield (map) with its classes happening there on throughout the week. Take a look at the classes below for more information.

Our groups and classes

Any musical ability is welcomed at Chesterfield Studios, with classes for total beginners up to an advanced standard.

Preparatory Musical Theatre
Wednesday evenings

For curious first-timers in Reception to Y2, this class explore acting, dancing, and singing in one-hour sessions focused on fostering a love for performing arts. These sessions are fun and pressure-free. Preps perform twice a year in showcases to demonstrate their progress.

Junior and Intermediate Musical Theatre
For those of Y3 to Y6 age

For students in Y3 to Y7, this class has engaging activities such as drama games, dance routines, and learning songs from musicals, our juniors and inters receive supportive guidance and are challenged more. The program aims to have two annual mini-showcase performances, allowing these young talents to master their skills and demonstrate their skills.

Lower Seniors Musical Theatre
Tuesday evenings

For students in Y7 to Y9. this class sees performers take on diverse roles in productions, encouraging their growth as actors, dancers, and singers. They also participate in the esteemed Christmas Concert as part of a sizable choir, which exposes them to harmonies, character development, and advanced dance techniques.

Upper Seniors Musical Theatre
Monday evenings

For senior students in Y10-Y13, the Upper Seniors regularly stage full-scale musicals in recognised theatres with many of their graduates have successfully pursued further training at top conservatories and universities. Students perform with and receive guidance from experienced musicians and technicians, developing well-rounded performers equipped with the skills to go on to further study.
