Music-making in ensembles and groups
Music-making ensembles and groups for instrumentalists of all abilities in Derby and Derbyshire
There are many opportunities for music-making in ensembles and groups from our delivery partners across the city and county. Whether you're a beginner or advanced performer on your instrument, there will be an ensemble for you.
Our local music centres host regular groups and ensembles, running during term times in the evenings and weekends, and cater for all types of instrument and ability level.
With a close working relationship with the Music Partnership, our Music Centres offer the chance to perform on minority instruments and the possibility of receiving an instrument on loan.

City & County Ensembles
The Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership runs three large-scale ensembles for higher-achieving young instrumentalists; the Derby & Derbyshire Schools' Orchestra and the City & County Youth Orchestra and Youth Wind Band.
These three ensembles meet at various times of the year for residential courses and repertoire days. Each is directed or conducted by renowned conductors and perform challenging repertoire at various concert venues across the city and county throughout the year.
