Groups and ensembles

Any musical ability is welcomed at PDMC, with groups for total beginners up to an advanced standard.

• Where and when?
  Groups run throughout the week at several locations in the Peak District.

Beginner level
For beginners up to grade 1 standard

• Hope Valley Beginner Winds − Tuesdays after school at Hope Valley College
  For beginner woodwind, brass and percussion players
• Buxton Beginner Winds – Wednesdays after school at Buxton Community School
  For beginner woodwind, brass and percussion players
• Bakewell Beginner Winds − Fridays after school at Lady Manners School, Bakewell
  For beginner woodwind, brass and percussion players
• Beginner Strings − Thursdays after school at Bakewell Methodist Junior School
  For beginner string players

Some ability / Intermediate ability
For intermediate standards of grade 2 to 5

• Peak District Training String Orchestra − Friday evenings at Buxton Infant School
  for string players of approx. grade 1-3 ability
• Peak District Intermediate String Orchestra − Fridays at Buxton Infant School
  for string players of approx. grade 3-5 ability
• Peak District Intermediate Wind Band − Fridays at Lady Manners School, Bakewell
  for wind, brass and percussion players of approx. grade 2-4 ability

More advanced ability
For approximately grade 4/5+ standard

• Peak District Big Band − Wednesday evenings at Buxton Community School
  for jazz players of approx grade 4+ ability
• Peak District Wind Band − Fridays at Lady Manners School, Bakewell
  for wind, brass and percussion players of approx. grade 4+ ability
• Peak District String Orchestra − Fridays at Buxton Infant School
  for string players of approx. grade 5+ ability
